In the western-most part of the Salento area, almost bathed by the Ionic Sea, Francesco Saverio Nitti, the Prime Minister who led the fate of Italy in the immediate post First World War period, went to recover from the strains of government.  The estate, known as Casino Nitti, located in the road of the same name, included an old farm and even then produced top quality wine.

Magistravini selected this magical place, rich in history and enlivened by the scents of the sea breeze, to create a new viticultural and tourism project.
After careful geophysical chemical research confirming the renowned estate's top wine growing qualities and following careful preparation of the soil and selection of the clones and rootstock, 43 additional hectares have been replanted with cordon-trained and spur-pruned vines, which reached maturity for the 2009 harvest. Casino Nitti grows the majority of the grapes

for the Emera wines, maintaining just a small section for its own extremely limited production.
The Casino Nitti project also focuses on the promotion of the Apulia region by promoting its most deep-rooted and ancient traditions.
Wine has always been one of the most acclaimed trades of the Apulia region. That's why this projectinvolves not only the renovation, extension and modernisation of the historic winery, but also the restoration of the old farmhouse. Furthermore, next to the main building, a series of suites, an elegant restaurant and a wellbeing centre will stand, entirely consistent with the traditional architectural style.
By means of this project, Casino Nitti aims to rapidly make its name as a top centre for wine production and hospitality for those who want to get to know the beauties of the region and experience the charms of its most ancient civilization.
