Magistravini is a story of people, first of all Claudio Quarta. A man, a studious, who began his career as a researcher before becoming Director of the Lepetit Center for Pharmaceutical Research and, therefore, an entrepreneur through the transformation of the Research Center in a biotechnology company, Biosearch Italy, the first biotechnology company listed on the Italian stock exchange. Subsequently, the Company, which became Vicuron Pharmaceuticals by merging with the USA company “Versicor”, was also listed on the NAS DAQ New York. It is the story of the success that allowed Claudio Quarta to return in Italy, to dedicate himself to an old passion, the wine, along with a group of old and new friends and enterpreuners. This union brought the birth of the company Magistravini: a structured network of wineries, in which we produce excellent wines, that give the taste of earth, history, identity, knowledge of territories voted to produce wine for centuries. Magistravini immediately recognizes in southern Italy the ideal location from which rediscover the roots of wine culture. In Salento he founds Eméra, partially basing on the old factory of the country. This amazing project continues and now Magistravini is going to invest the lands with “Greco di Tufo” and “Fiano di Avellino” in Guagnano, |
where he developed the farm Sanpaolo, currently undergoing further refinement. Again Magistravini choose Puglia with the ambitious project of Casino Nitti, an historic farmhouse on the Ionian coast of Salento, where over 40 acres of prized vineyards are planted. Finally, Eméra moved its production to a new underground cellar and with the most modern equipment, built into the body of a farm of the sixteenth century and immersed in their own vineyards. Magistravini and its wineries aspire to return to those approaching his wine, the taste and the emotions of an ancient story that tells about those territories. Magistravini has worked for some years in the Biotechnology Park "Insubria Biopark" in Gerenzano (Varese) where he completed, with different partners, some innovative research projects in the wine sector, such as the maximization, improvement and selection of biodiversity, both with traditional methods and microorganisms for winemaking, and much more. Magistravini later moved its headquarters in Guagnano, Salento, in the old cellar of the property appropriately restored. Magistravini with their wineries has more than 70 hectares of vineyards of the highest quality in highly suited areas. |
